What's that smell? Chemical Emissions.
The EPA has issued a report that showed significant non-compliance with its Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) regulations. A typical refinery leaks between 600 and 700 tons of VOCs into the air each year through open connections and leaking equipment such as valves, connections and other equipment.
